I am.. Saved.

Broken, dissatisfied, and hopeless.

All throughout high school I had it all wrong,

I was more concerned about my reputation rather than my education.

I spent my weekends partying and playing beer pong

Not knowing what path I was heading down.

I didn’t care, as long as I was with my friends having fun

Not knowing that when it all hit the fan, they’d all run.

I started turning into a person I said I’d never be

Because I let my ‘friends’ convince me to do what they pleased.

Eventually it ended up catching up with me.

I had been knocking on the devil’s door for far too long

And then I learned that I had been living life all wrong.

It dawned on me that my friends weren’t moving in the direction I wanted my life to head in.

I couldn’t keep partaking in this life of sin.

Friendships started deteriorating when my life began changing.

No more making mistakes because of my vulnerability

And feeling unforgiven because with God I had all the ability.

Living for the approval of others left a huge price to pay

Following God’s word was the only way

Now I know I can face life’s toughest battles

Because with God’s strength my enemies will not leave me feeling rattled

My life is now filled with greater purpose

I now know that greater feelings of temptation will surface

But with God by my side, He will give me nothing I can’t handle

Because in the end He always intervenes

Whether it’s Joshua, Psalms, Philippians, or Kings

The book of God’s word has all the answers.

We have a perfect God who wants nothing but the best

I will never put my faith to rest.

Because of Him, I was saved.

Forgiven, glorified, and fearless.

I never thought that would be me, but here I am.
