I Am... Scholarship Slam

Deep down inside, i hide who i am.

Painting the picture of happy girl.

All alone in this world.

Being a college student isnt easy, especailly being the first one

but just to help my family, it had to be done.

Its like everyone is depending on me, wanting me to succeed

but how can i do that, when no one emotionally understands my needs

Im only 18, I have just one chance.

To make my momma proud.

Growing up without both of my parents really changed how i see things

Cant trust a man, cant believe anything.

Walking around with a broken heart, its made me dark.

Not caring for a soul, but my mothers heart.

Im not the only child, &im thankful for that

Having two sisters through the hard times to have my back

If it wasnt for them, it would of been a long journey for me.

Being much older then me, made me realize some things.

Im not the only one who might feel this way, we all went trough it.

With the unbreakable bond, we halped eachother through it.

I am Alexus, a freshman in college.
