I am the Scone

Scones!!!!

Great Aunt Dolly made them

I loved them they were the shared gift that I loved the most any memory with Aunt Dolly include the Scones but even i knew that would not last forever

Time passed:

I matured

Aunt Dolly Aged

Last Christmas I received a quart bag of scones and was told

"these are the last ones"

Such final words like the words from the Lorax the best book of my childhood yet it hadn't sunk in that I could never enjoy the scones again.

Sadness, Memories and curiosity all hit me so quickly I just wanted this recipe to continue but with her forgetting how to make the Scones and me not being interested at the time I used to watch her I despaired that I would never enjoy the scones again until...

Mother  she found it

10 years ago my aunt sent us the recipe

fumbling through the steps I a young adult began to recreate the recipe of my childhood

10 minutes to cook to find out the results

"not bad" she said

"more butterscotch chips" critiquing my cookies

She liked them

I suceeded and knew

whatever came with the next years that i would suceed for if i have my cookies i can always pull back to my childhood.

Scones, Culinary, family, friends all synonyms to me.
