I am a Shark
I do not stop as the water leaps,
Lapping around me, gracing my skin,
I cannot stop as the water speaks,
Beckoning me to dive deeper, to swim
I dance with notes and scales of my morning,
Mourning the pass of my fleeing free time,
I challenge points of a match’s poor scoring,
Finding my rhythm, acing my rhyme
I burn candles through the night,
Working on lists of things to do,
And still a fiery appetite,
Remains of lists I’d like to pursue,
The water speaks, it calls me in,
I learn to dance with it and swim,
And as I work, I do embark
On a deep blue journey, I am a shark.
