I am Sick of Facebook

You have a notification

Open the notification and the blue banner awakens

Grad Party Invite! Hope you can come

I hit join and press the home button skimming the posts of friends

“I got accepted today!”

“I decided today!”

“Class of 2019!”

I Read.

I have goosebumps.

One for each post

One for fellow student

One for each anxiety.

I’m still waiting.

Waiting on that list

Everyone got a golden ticket

Mine was on paper.

Mine was black and white.

Mine was delivered by a cold electronic email.

No chocolate bar for me.

My mind was racing faster than car

But my denial letter, stepped on the breaks.

Hard.
