I Am From a Small Town
I am from crock pot dishes and gatorade bottles,
From long showers and cold water
I am from never being alone,
From screaming and laughing at the dining room table
I am from yellow leaves,
a deer and a squirrel in a lively wood
I am from red toes painted on the porcelain throne
I am from bonfires and boots,
tailgates on Friday nights
I am from spandex and sports bras,
black and white spotted balls
I am from duct tape and spit
I am from hairspray and Chuck Taylor’s
I am from a yellow lab,
From an old rabbit
I am from Luke Bryan blaring with the windows down,
I am from 13075 in a small town.
