I Am Soldier

My mind is the front lines,

I'm going outta my mind.

I'm a soldier,

I'm a soldier,

Why does the war seem like its over?

I march even when it feels like I am about to collapse,

Every day I find myself slipping back into relapse.

I wish there was a way I could just forgot the past,

This war wasn't the first and it will not be the last.

Fighting is what soldiers like me do,

Our depression creeps in after all we've been through.

What happens when a soldier stops fighting?

My mind is the front lines,

I'm going outta my mind.

I'm a soldier,

I'm a soldier,

Why does the war seem like its over?

I need someone to show me that there is a path to peace,

I have lived in bondage and I can't break free.

When it comes to fear we either fight or flee,

But maybe they never really thought about me.

Fighting may be my last resort,

I wish that my breaths weren't cut short.

What happens when soldiers fail?
