I Am Something

I am something

I wonder what I am

I hear the clicking of heels

I see the big, sparkly dresses

I want to feel special

I am something

I pretend to be a princess

I feel pretty

I touch my crown

I worry it is not shiny enough

I cry because beauty is pain

I am a princess

I understand what I am

I say, "Just keep on smiling."

I dream to be happy at the ball

I try to find Prince Charming

I hope he is here

I am something, I am a princess
