I Am A Tortoise
The Tortoise that Wants to Be a Bird
You can't find me,
Definitely you can't,
'Cause I'm in my hideout,
Up in a plant.
The view sure is splendid,
Better than from the ground,
I hide up here quietly,
Without a peek; not a sound.
I'm sure you find it strange,
To find a creature like me up here,
But it's my right to do what I do,
You cannot interfere!
How did I get up here?
It's simple you know.
I have powerful muscles,
Even though I'm slow.
I want to feel free like a bird,
with no bounds,
I'll fly freely in the sky,
Not just stuck on the ground.
What is so funny?
Why do you laugh?
This is true!
It is not a bluff!
Well, I am not shaken at all
by your miserable teasing
It is MY right
to keep on dreaming.
But I do understand why
you find this so absurd.
Well, I'm just a strange little tortoise
That wants to be a bird.
