I Am... A Warrior

Cannon blows

Bullet holes

Stab wounds

Scars upon scars

Telling the stories of the battles I’ve fought

Battles between my monsters and I

A constant battle

Everyday

There’s never a day off

I feel dead

But I’m still walking

Why

I start asking what’s the point

Then a helping hand comes along

Followed by a friendly smile

And the words I will never forget

You’re not alone

That’s what keeps me going

That’s what picks me back up when I fall

That’s what keeps me fighting
