I Am What I Actually Am
I am funny, I am kind
I am introverted most the time.
I am smart, I am pretty
Sometimes I feel tiny, itty bitty.
I am creative, I am crazy
My direction feels uncertain, hazy.
I am fit, I am lean
Am I really so cookie cutter as I seem?
What people say about me, it's nice
But is it true?
People look no further than the outside,
They're afraid to look within.
It's not scary, it's not dark,
You'll see my heart and my sin.
I sit in church, but don't believe.
I disagree, but will concede.
I keep silent what I feel,
For your comfort and my appeal.
I want people to try to look farther in.
Stop looking at where I am,
Start looking at where I've been.
