I Am What I Am
Forget my skin, forget my look
Let go of my scars, look past my weakness
Answer my question of who I truly am
What am I to you? What am I to me?
Life has made me a survivor, I am strength defined
Endless assaults only hardened my skin
Secrets, lies, and truth only sharpened my mind
Survivor is what I am, there is no shame in that
I have not defined myself with regrets
The choices I have made are my lessons
I am what I am, the perfect version of me
In the end, only God can make me better.
