I Am What I Know How To Be

I've been working so hard to prefect my heart, to live my life with all this hate animosity and strife. I try to run but my feet stumble I try to cry but my eyes are to dry to mumble. I want to fly, let me live, let me give, give me a chance to heal. Let me be real, let me make mistakes, let me stand in the pouring rain. Let me die inside with the many lies with the constant doors being closed in my FACE. Let me see the light in the dark hallway. Let me see the cloud that bring the sunshine in the day. Let me defend, let me debate let me swim let me wear a cape. Let me write to just be writing, let me sing to sing, let me explore the many things my heart desires to be. Let me jump from a plane or climb the highest mountain scream when nobody is looking. Grow as a person, sore like an eagle ,watch like a owl, even as small as a beetle. Let me love, let me hurt, leave me staring out a window while tears are pounding my chest. let me take pictures to capture every special moment in life, allow me to be an example like Ali I will fight. Let me kneel at the alter, let me bow my head, let me lift my hands, when no one is looking, while using my hands to wipe away my tears. Let me hear the word of God. Let me testify, let me bring others a get well card just to show my love. Let me stop in the grave yard and find row “O” were my mother is buried next to my grandmother ooh God were they close. Let me stand in the grass were the deep yellow flowers captivate my inner being. Let me make my own decisions for my own reasons. Let me swim across the lake, let me ride across the sea, let me be all I know how to be.
