I Am What I Write

The words swirl and begin to fall into place

first slowly then faster

and faster

and faster

until I no longer think of what I write,

I am what I write,

the words are me and I am the words.

As if casting a spell

my words wind together and change me and all who hear them.

They bind and flow with such ferocity

that passerby's can not help but stop and listen.

My words are my voice

and my voice is me;

I am what I write.
