I am who I am

A girl stands tall stretching out toward the sky,

she breaths in the air,

and releases her voice,

I am who I am and I am not afraid;

Others will judge but I will not look,

I will soar free like a bird,

and I will always be misunderstood,

but I am who I am and I am not afraid;

I may hear shouts in my head,

this is too much,

I want to hide;

Yet I do not listen but the slow whistle from the wind,

I feel the cool breeze against my skin,

like Mother Nature brushing my cheeks;

And I listen to the sound of judgement,

like it is taunting me to hide,

But I am who I am and I am not afraid.
