I Am Who I Am
As I wake, another day awaits me. Ready to put on my mask full of make up that truly deceives me. I stare in the mirror and look deeply. I hate how I have to hide my true self so sheepishly. Why should I have to appeal to people other than myself? My looks, my personality, my body, my health. I am who I am and that's all i'll ever be, it's time to stop changing for others, and time to start changing for me. The unfiltered me is someone who's proud: has a hard work ethic and who can be rather loud. An average high school teen who speaks her mind, who stands up for her beliefs, and values her time. A girl who has feelings, qutie a lot I suppose. Someone who wants to be happy, she would never let her anxities show. But despite the mask she wears to school, there is so much more to her, but she does not want to look like a fool. Beautiful? Maybe, in some peoples eyes, if they can get past the pimples and circles under her eyes. She hates wearing make up, and hates concealing, she'd rather be naked and show her true feelings. Fuck other people's thoughts and the judgemental bitches, I'm just a girl full of life, love, laughter and wishes. Wishes to be surrounded by unfiltered people, naked faces with acne, who are truly more real. There is more to life than being viewed as flawless, so show your flaws, embrace your true self, and stop being selfish. We are all beautiful in our own certain ways, so stop overediting your instagram selfies, I promise it's okay. It's taken me forever to accept who I am, but if you cant accept me, then may your life be dammned. I am who I am, and I'm perfectly happy. Live an unfiltered life, and post an unfiltered selfie.
