I Am Who I Am

Wed, 02/18/2015 - 19:11 -- Rosa17

I am who I am.

I am an outspoken mind with a gentle soul.

I cry, shout, laugh and love;

I love and love and love.

I am often proud of me,

But I often doubt me.

Emotions overwhelm me,

The peace and quiet soothes me.

Warm embraces comfort me,

The stars at night delight me.

My confidence inspires me,

My jealousy conspires against me.

I am who I am.

My culture is an integral part of my being.

I am my birthplace, language, people and roots,

The rhythm of my country flows freely through my veins.

I love to read, write, sing and dance,

in the pouring rain, beneath the sun and stars.

My family is my backbone,

My adversities make me stronger.

My faith in people falters but never fades,

My love for life is permanent.

My goals are mine to achieve,

My dreams are mine to believe.

I am who I am.

I handle life’s curveballs with ease.

I worry, fret, enjoy and live,

I live and live and live.

The melodic syllables of my name are uniquely mine,

The sharpness of my tongue and mind are also mine.

The sound of my laugh, the bounce in my hair is truly mine,

The confidence of my stride will always be mine.

I empower myself,

I trust myself,

I embrace myself,

I believe in myself.

And I am who I am.
