I am a Woman

I am a woman because it was the gift appointed by God
I am a woman because i was born with the gift to give life, i am a woman because i know my worth, but i am more than just a woman,
I am a Black woman, the blood running through the veins is the same blood that ran through my ancestors veins, and gave them the strength to fight back, i am a black woman for more than just my skin color but because of my integrity,Grit, and Pride.
I am a black woman because i dont only have the strength to hold up myself but to also hold up my fellow brother the Black Man,
I am a black woman because i choose to stand behind my black man, but not as his meek wife but as his strength, to continue to push him forward, and always be his safety net,
I am a black woman because i have years and years of oppression, rape, disrespect and neglect staining my skin from the wrong doing of my ancestors and everyday i work hard to make my people of the past who were treated like garbage, know they were not vain,
I am a black woman because i'm more than any white man's stereotype,
I am smart, funny, kind, caring and i have my pride,
I am more than just a woman, i am a black woman which means that i am a Queen.
