I Am Yours

Thu, 01/23/2014 - 10:55 -- _Karlee

I am yours,

where waters meets land;

crashing in with passion,

creating tidal waves of affection.

Ruby red stones on the shore

relax upon specks of sand.

I exhale my troubles, and watch

as the salty air swallows them

and spits them out for the seagulls

to feast on. Languidly, the lullaby

of the waves lulls my racing mind.

Using only the sky as my clock,

I see the sun return to it's home

beneath the horizon; my sun-infused skin

glitters under the moon.

Soon I fall

into a slumber, cradled by the coast

and covered with silent precision

by a feeling of comfort.
