I Am...an imposter

looking in the mirror

you’re filled with hate

this is the reality

the fat, ugly girl reflected back

is the truth

you can hide it from the others

suck it in, laugh it off

it’s all a facade

this is the truth

others call you perfect or nice or cute

they don’t know

what you hide, deep inside

is the truth

lonely eyes filled with revulsion

that’s what you see

that’s what you are

this is the truth

broken promises

forgotten workouts

a resolution left behind

is the truth

little sleep

plus little time

loneliness and sadness led to this

this is the truth

What others don’t see

underneath that perfect projected image

this girl, too heavy, too short, too curvy

is the truth

The happiness, the laughs

the smiles and diligence

the hard work and hard play

that is a lie
