I Am...From the Light

I Am… From the Light

I am from the light

My family gives their entire being to shape my world you see

To make sure the light is instilled in me

The light is a great responsibility and privilege to uphold

I am brilliant, so I am told

Because of the light, I encompass many things

Not sure of which path to follow or what it brings

An athlete, scholar, and perfectionist to the end

The pressure can be stressful, but I will not bend

Have I wracked my body and brain for nothing? Sometimes it’s unclear

I am tested, but I persevere

A loyal confidant and friend

My love is until the end

My heart is open and sincere

Even though I am small, I will carry anyone it’s clear

I am tested, but I persevere

Trying to be respectful, and treat others like gold

The glasses, braces, and acne are gone but they forged the mold

Always be confident yet humble, even if they jeer

I am tested, but I persevere

A comedian, my laugh is the loudest in the room

Happiness makes the negative people fume

My wish is to always help people smile, I hold it so dear

I am tested, but I persevere

Yes, there are many tests in life

I will do my best to handle any strife

For I am certain my future will be bold

Because I am brilliant, so I am told

At first I thought it’s because I am smart and bright

But now I realize it’s because I am from the light
