I Am...Scholarship Slam

How exactly can we define sombody?

Should we define them by who we see?

Or is it when they are isolated? A nobody.

We put on faces to get through our days,

We smile, exchange pleasantries, hide our pain away.

Who am I really, down to the bone?

Is it surrounded by love? When I'm alone?

I don't know if that  answer is there to find.

But that's okay, now I can rest my mind.

I now believe that I am everything.

My mother, my home, the way the bird sings.

I cannot possibly find one thing that defins who I am.

I will continue to not know, and be okay with not having a plan.
