I Believe In Being Me.
I see many expectations and different visions of me.
When my mom looks at me, she wants to see a girl who is mature, proper, responsible, full of goals and achievements, a straight A student at the top of her class.
My father wants to see a beautiful, flawless and beyond perfect model type lady. He believes that his daughters should always look like the exact definition of perfection. Never a hair out of place or blemish on my face.
Older siblings see me as a constant trouble maker. A teen who can not be trusted or taken seriously in the real world. In their eyes, I am constantly up to no good and could never live up to any potential.
Society categorizes me as a fat, lazy, average and an overly hormonal teen. I need to be skinny and look just like a celebrity. If I ever want to get a boyfriend or husband then I need to be a man's toy or exact fantasy. I am an object.
Well excuse me, but don't I have a say in who I should be? What if I don't want to be how they expect me to be? I only believe in being me.
I believe that I am perfect. When I look at myself, I see a fun, happy, cute girl. I am happy with myself. I believe that I have the capability to change the world. I believe in love at first sight. I believe in the impossible.
I believe that I am who I am. And as long as I am happy with myself, then I will live a long and amazingly happy life. I don't need others to tell me how to act and look or tell me who I should be.
In my eyes I see life, joy, excitement. I see a grown lady with bursts of child youth. I see a long life full of love, memories and many accomplished goals.
I am not perfect. I can not be who anyone wants me to be. I am who I am and that's all I could ever want for myself. I am sorry that I can't be the me that you all see, but I stick to what I believe. And I believe in being me.
