I Bid You Goodbye

Dear Mother, Dear Father,

The thought has ran through my mind a thousand times,

and although you dread the day

This is goodbye.

Freedom has come to whisk me away,

taking me distances further than your beliefs.

It is time I move on,

To great independence,

To be unrestricted

With  momentous transcendence.

The trek will trail,

and be high full of hail.

And when all's said and done

It will be goodbye

But before I go

I feel you should know.

This was the ultimatum,

And with distaste of them

The foundation would have surley crumbled

So in the end,

It truly wasn't you, but me

I bid you goodbye
