I blame poetry

Poetry has brought forth a new emotion Its something deep and painful Yet light and caring It rips away at my soul It tears into my heat Yet it wipes away my tears And holds me close It's taught me to fight alone To push forward when I can't move When the thoughts in my mind Come rushing forward It's carried me through the easy And abandoned me at my darkest Poetry takes over my mind It drives me to new places It shifts my focus on the little things On the ones that no one cares for It has taught me to care To love To hate To share To keep To give To receive But the one thing poetry taught me best Was how to find myself After being lost for so long
