I blew it

We broke up on the eve of women’s day and undeniably that was one of my lowest days. I had managed to ruin something so beautiful and now all I’m left with is the question what if. What if I gave you the love that you deserved, what if I valued you like I was supposed to, what if I knew then what I know now, would things then be different to what is because what is, is totally different to what could have been. I ruined what could have been chance after chance, forgiveness after forgiveness and now I may have lost you forever, I think. But before I say my official goodbyes I’d like to share with you a little something I’ve learnt. When you get emotionally attached to someone a small piece of their soul stays within you, and probably in that way you’ll always carry me with you wherever your road may lead. You may not think of me always but on some random days you’ll remember those little moments we shared like that time we sat and listened to Ed Sheeran’s perfect. They say life is measured by moments and you gave me a lot of that, in this short span of time that we were together you gave me quite an experience. I grew fonder of you and initially got emotionally attached to you. By that I'm inferring the fact that I’ll also carry you with me wherever I will be. Losing you was a life changing experience, real love is rare and we shared that but I blew it with my ignorance.
