I BROKE THE RULES...
I broke the rules
Because I wanted to
I broke the rules
For I was tired of the game
I was tired of the same rhythms
I wanted a change
But you wanted to continue
So, I broke the rules
Because I wanted out
I broke the rules
They were too intense
I tried to abide in them
But I realized
I could not
Not anymore
So, I broke the rules
Because I could
I broke the rules
You know I did
Because it was a prison
I am not a prisoner
I wanted freedom
I am freedom, my ancestors gifted me that
So, I broke the rules
Because they made me prisoner
I broke the rules
And am excited I did
I now feel the peace roaming
I feel the freshness of the air I breathe
I feel the breeze for the first time
And I like it
The freedom
So much enticing
So, I broke the rules
Because I have a right to
And, they are rules to be broken
