I CAN do this

I was born from the state of Wisconsin

moved to California 13 years later

I was in a school full of people I didnt trust

Yet i motivated myself, "I CAN do this" but others dont see

the struggle, of a brand new girl workin a puzzle

putting together her life

knowing that her family can barely afford a bag of rice

My family and I live off foodstamp and my dad the only one working

my mommy goes "stay in school, you'll end up doing whatever you like

in the future"

and I go "I CAN do this"

I can go to college and continue with what I want

to prove my parents life isn't just a haunt

I work my mind through IB courses, procastinations not my main

theasaures

cant wait til the year I graduate, show them haters i made my way

through thick and thin I always waited to remember my words

"I CAN do this"
