I Can Hear Two Voices

I can hear two voices,

one of which is mine,

and one that dreams to be.

With their own unique sound,

and that will soon belong to me.

I can hear two voices,

one that I was born with,

and one that I had to obtain.

Speaking their own story,

and are both worth the gain.

I can hear two voices,

one others desire,

and one that they know.

My words draw them closer,

and my hard work will show.

I can hear two voices,

one that I teach,

and one that I learn.

Every teacher becomes a student,

when it is their turn.

Can you hear two voices?

I can only hear one.

That one is mine,

and that one is me.

Our voices are one.
