I can't go without good-bye

I can't go without saying good-bye

Even though it means seeing sadness in your eyes

To leave without a parting word

Cuts hearts more easily than a sword.

Laughing with our friends is fun

Until we see the setting sun

A coming truth of a day undone.

I can go into the world

With the shirt taken from my back,

Travel down the lonely roads

With nothing in my sack

But to move on without a phrase of leaving

Seems to be impossible

To go silently into the night

And face a crucible.

I cannot go without good byes

I love my friends too much

To leave them all is painful

With out hugging twice as such.

So send me off on a raft of twine

Or fly me to the moon

Just let me tell my family

I can't wait to see them soon.
