I Can't Live Without My Meds
I can't live without my meds.
Most say things such as love, friends, or their favorite food.
But I-I'm different.
I don't want to be this way but I can't seem to survive without this armor.
The chest plate of diagnosis, gauntlets of millograms, and the rest is zoloft itself.
If I want to love, I need its aid.
If I yearn for company, I must first swallow the happiness I need to enjoy the outing.
The dismal smog lingeres above my body, the only thing keeping it's virus at bay; the pills.
If I go one day without this small capsule, everything rushes back.
The pain as well as the contradictory numb sensation.
But I am grateful.
I can't live without my meds but without them I wouldn't have the ability to live.
