I Can't Tell You

I can't tell you all the days I came into school wishing to go back out the doors.

I can't tell you how hard it was to stay away from the pills, the ones that were supposed to make everything better.

I can't tell you how many days I went home crying after a panic attack paralyzed me in class.

I can't even begin to tell you how bad I was before I met you.

I can't tell you how much it means to me that you let me sit in your classroom to take a break from reality.

I can't tell you why everything comes in waves.

In all the things I can't tell you, I want you to know this:

You take on more than you can handle, because you love your job and students more than most.

I feel blessed to have met you, and had you as a teacher.

Out of all the things that I can't tell you, I can tell you this.

You are a bright light in many kids' lives who need someone.

You know how to bring out the best in people, and help them grow.

Your kindness and openness to new people is astounding.

I can't tell you how blessed our school is to have you.
