I can’t

I can’t anymore

I can’t pretend

That it doesn’t hurt

I can’t pretend what you did was right

I can’t pretend that I’m okay

Because what you did was wrong

You hurt me

Again and again

I shouldn’t have told

I shouldn’t have wasted my breathe

Fighting for you day and night

While everyone fought for you

Remember

Who was there

Remember who was in the hospital

I mean would you care

If I was gone

Would you all care

They say time heals all wounds

But I don’t believe that

I don’t believe people can change

I don’t believe that people don’t get justice

I don’t believe what people tell me

Because inside I’m not the same

Because inside I’m torn

If you look into my eyes

You see dark

I wanna be unburied

But my truth is not like that

My truth is far from that

I’ve been hiding

And honestly don’t wanna

But I can’t expose my deepest secrets

I can’t expose the

Fact I’m angry

The fact I’m suffering

The fact I go through it alone

The fact I’m not normal

And don’t tell me no one is normal

Because I am way far from what others think normal is.

Nobody really cares what you are

Nobody really cares at the time

I wanted change

I wanted something different

Then the life we were dealt

I wanted what other kids had

But I never got it

I’m to old now

Almost adult, hate that word

Adult

Why should I

Well because

My CHILDHOOD was TAKEN

Something I will never get back

Something I can’t change

I feel bad enough

I won’t be home

For the holidays

Does anyone get that

While others have fun

Partying it up

While I’m stuck I’m stuck

In foster care

Probably never getting out

Court comes up soon

Wonder

What’s gonna happen

Please judge

Don’t say no

You can’t

You can’t say no

It’s not fair

I deserve

What other kids have

Judge

I deserve it

You heard it before

It’s damaging to me

But you don’t care

It’s not you that’s hurt

Because of the broken system

So please don’t get mad

When I say I’m angry

At the fact that

There is no justice

That there is no life in dhs

there is no normal to this life

There is no friends in the system

There isn’t anything

So tell me judge

Should I give up

I believe so

Because I had a time

Where I thought I was going home

But each time it’s been broken down.

So thanks
