I Carry You in Me

I never knew how Kenya could change my life, Until it became like a home. I was there for 2 weeks without any strife, With new friends that were free to roam. Every person there greeted us with beautiful smiles. I witnessed this as I walked up the church aisles. These kids clung to my hand, Hoping to be given just a little bit of love. I thought it would be hard to understand What these people have been deprived of. My mind finally caught, That we all had more in common than I thought. My time in Kenya will forever be cherished. For I spent every moment with a joyful grin. Not once did I feel I was being perished. I poured my heart out to each person from within. Across a distant sea, I carry you in me.
