I Choose Me
Because I love you, I always choose you.
I choose you before my homework
Before work
Before my family and friends.
Because I love you I put you before myself.
When we're arguing and you're wrong I "stay in my place."
Because I love you, I do what you ask of me.
I block him,
I delete my post,
I restrain from wearing shorts and dresses,
I take your hand to my cheek,
Your feet to my side,
All because I love you.
Because I love you I'm afraid to lose you so I want to keep you happy.
Even if it means sacrificing my own.
Even if it means never choosing me.
Because I love you our arguments should really be disagreements.
Just because I love you doesn’t mean you should come before my priorities.
Just because I love you does not mean I should make excuses for you.
Love does not make you right when you're wrong.
Love is not controlling or overbearing
Love is patient.
Love is trusting.
Love is kind.
Because I love you, I choose me.
