I Chose Not to...

I always wanted to hold your hands, but every time that we’re together, I chose not to.

I am always thinking of wiping your tears, but when you are crying, I chose not to.

I always wanted to show you how much I care, but when I’m with you, I chose not to.

I always wanted to wrap you in my arms, but when you’re with me, I chose not to.

There we’re many times that I wanted to cry to your shoulders, but I chose not to.

I wanted to tell you to stay by my side, but when I already have the courage, I chose not to.

When the time you are leaving, I wanted to run after you, but I chose not to.

I really wanted to tell you how much I love you, but until now, I chose not to.

Because . . .

I chose not to hold your hand because you’re already holding mine,

I chose not to wipe your tears because its tears of joy,

I chose not to care for you because you’re always the one, who takes good care of me,

I chose not to wrap you in my arms, because I am already wrapped within yours,

I chose not to cry in front of you because it was I that was mistaken,

I chose not to run after you because in the first place, I was the one, who left,

I chose not to tell you how much I love you because I don’t have the right anymore to even be with you.

And I wonder why,

If I have only chosen the other way around, would you have chosen me still?
