As I close my eyesI

As I close my eyes

I clear all my thoughts

But memories of you

Just can’t seem to be lost.

Not once in this life

Have I needed to hide

The fact that my tears

Were no longer inside.

The water and soap

Gently wash and caress

While tears stars to flow

From my eyes to my chest.

I hate to admit

Not even I can deny

These drops are not fresh

All because of one guy.

I start to think back

I now remember that time

You took my both hands

Your lips were on mine.

As minutes pass by

The shower still runs.

I hold my knees

And the water now burns.

I think of my future

How full it could be

If you would only stay

Right here next to me.

But now I recall

That it can’t be so

Because I was fooled

By my heart and your glow.

The cause of my pain

Oblivious and free

From the sorrow I feel

Deep within me.

So maybe the truth

Is what I need to hear

So I can forget

And remove all these fears.
