I Could Not Avoid Depression
I could not avoid Depression.
He is a constant sore.
I've struggled to avoid him so,
Yet his grasp tightens more.
Today he whispered in my ear,
His mocking never ends.
"They secretly don't want you here!"
He jeers about my friends.
People scoff at those like myself.
"Look at this shameful child!
Depression is no more than her
Ill fantasies gone wild!"
Do not believe them, he exists!
He killed all of my hope.
Depression never leaves his prey,
I am coiled in his rope.
