I couldn't live without

I couldn't live without my bed

because if I tried, where else would I rest my head?

On gloomy nights as raindrops fall

my bed is the thing that continues to call.

It gives me warmth when days turn cold

and promises dreams of things untold.

When no one else is there for me

to my bed is where I flee.

Although a bed may seem required

there are those who have no such place to rest when tired.

They have no bed to rest their head

and what's to become of them cannot be said.

They suffer through the days and nights

but my do they put up some grand fights.

They do not give up but instead stay strong

even when the nights seem too long.

We take for granted the things we possess

when others lives are much more a mess.

That is why I cherish my bed

for we never know what lies ahead.

We could lose everything in the blink of an eye

before we get a chance to say goodbye.

Never take for granted what you own

because your future remains unknown.

I could not live without my bed

because if I tried, where else would I rest my head?
