I Cut You Deeply

I realize only now what I had done to you,

Since left to ponder.

I realize only now the heartache I put you through.

—From this solitude.

I pushed you away with bitterness,

Spewing venomous toxins.

I wanted you to feel what I felt inside.

—Darkness.

But you have shown me only kindness,

And I the arrogant serpent.

I only wish to apologize,

Please—please ... forgive me.

But such sins could never be forgiven,

When cut so deeply.
