I Dance, I Ride

Performing a dance is a roller coaster blast.

From start to finish, first to last.

Preparing a dance, to waiting in line,

The anticipation of the two surely align.

Waiting in the wings makes my stomach turn,

In the rollercoaster car, I have the same concern.

When the music starts and I hit my first mark,

The coaster takes off, like igniting a spark.

I turn and I spin and I hit every count,

Like my adrenaline on the coaster, hitting its greatest amount.

The dance is over; the crowd starts to cheer,

The ride is over, I’ve overcome both fears.

Looking back at the dance with satisfaction and pride,

Remembering the coaster what a mind-blowing ride!

My dance and the coaster both filled me with zest,

These two experiences were the very very best.
