I Deserve Better

You said you loved me, I was your diamond in the rough; You’d always be there for me, Where were you when the times got tough? My heart is broken, I can’t believe this love is lost; A lifetime price to pay, For a 15 minute cost. I gave you my everything, And now I have one last gift; God’s new great creation, That started out as “just a kiss”. I’ll never neglect this child, She is healthy, cute, and sweet; I know she’ll be somebody, Then you can hang your head in defeat. My baby is not a mistake, More of a lesson learned; Everybody is down for the ride, Until we crash and burn. (poems go here)
