I DIDN'T KNOW
I Didn't Know / Dark Angel
The cold winds blow the ice off my truck window
Why drive home;
Changes in my life is on stop,
My mind continues to wondering what Dark Angel is going to do next!
Tumbling walls of childhood dreams,
Breaking glass of memories,
Oh how all of this kills me,
It’s a lie that “change is good”
I think I should leave that nasty past behind me,
But it always haves away of coming back,
It was an accident when I got with Dark Angel,
An echoing cry accompanying my mind,
My heart had almost gone numb,
I feel in love with a man that I thought was true,
But with time all he did was make me blue,
I didn't know much about his past or his life,
Until one day he ask me to be his wife, and I said no I was to young,
The darkness that was in his eyes on that September night,
He started stalking me on everything I had ever did,
An aching future I don’t want to know,
And yet I keep seeking now,
A way to make this pain go away that Dark Angel gave,
Clasping hands of friends of his,
He has all his family and friends to help him in stalking games
To watch over me,
I keep getting by day to day,
But by night my pains get overwhelming,
He cries out my name as I sleep,
Dark Angel even makes his way in my dreams,
My heart is a part of his nasty game;
To make me see things his way,
Our eyes meeting through a crowd of noise of the night,
Like he has a spell on me walking around like a clown,
With a flash of a smile upon my face like everything is OK,
Mysterious and clandestine, perhaps?
I apologize I cry with that look in his eyes,
I didn't know my heart had been playing me as a fool,
I didn't know I was with a man of the night.
