Before I Die

I'm not afraid of the dark
I'm not afraid of heights
I"m not afraid of intimacy
I'm not afraid of death

I'm afraid of losing my sense of direction
Not being able to see ahead

I'm afraid of hitting rock bottom
After being on top of the world

I'm afraid of being so connected to someone
That I forget who I am

I'm afraid of dying before feeling accomplished
And proud of what I've done

When the lights are on
And my feet are firmly on the ground
And the only person on my mind is myself,
I feel in control
I feel calm, I feel confident
I feel alive

I'm not afraid of death, I'm afraid of dying before I live
