Like I do

I’m not supposed to love you.
I’m not supposed to care.
I’m not supposed live my life wishing you were there.
I’m not supposed to wonder where you are or what you do.
I’m sorry I can’t help it ‘cause I’m in love with you.
I acted like it wasn’t a big deal.
But it was breaking my heart every time I’d see you walking down the halls.
I’d think about how you’ll treat her better than me and what we had was never a “thing”
It’s embarrassing knowing you’ll forget about us and move on, now you’re having someone else to lean on.
It feels wrong ‘cause I left you and I felt pretty good ‘cause I was only getting used.
But now it just seems like I was never important to you.
Now I’m sad ‘cause it seems like what we had didn’t last like you said it would, and you know what’s worse I fell for you after everybody told me not to.
But it’s fine at least my feelings for you weren’t a lie, I think that’s why I never left you inspite.
But now you have someone new and I hope you’ll see she’ll never love you like I do.
