I do not fully understand

I do not fully understand my sibling's walk

But I must listen when they talk

For my sibling, I must be willing to to go the mat

And self-assess for biases that lay thereat

Language must change so my sibling can understand

Who they are even if they do not identify as woman or man

And so i can understand and facilitate

In creating a world devoid of hate

My sibling may be different, but there is no need to fear

They have always been here
