I Don't Care

I don't care.

I don't care that my life is slowly
Slipping away.

That days are dark as the
Darkest nights.

I don't care
That the hole I'm slowly sinking into
Is getting deeper,
Deeper, and
Deeper,
Until it's deeper
Than the deepest realm of space.

I don't care that the sun
Rises in the morning
Nor that it sets at night.

I don't care how long the days are
For they all are years to me.

It doesn't matter that my sanity is slipping away with every tear that falls.

I don't mind that the abyss is getting deeper.

I don't care that
The world is falling,
Falling,
Falling,
Until I am left hanging by a thread.

That the candle of my soul is being snuffed out
Flame by flickering flame.

I wouldn't care if this second could be my last
If this last breath I draw would be the end.

I just don't care
