I Don't Know
I don’t know.
I just don’t know anymore
Every road I take seems to lead
To the same unending deed.
I want to stop in this moment
To watch the clouds pass me by
And for once see the sun setting without worrying about the time
I don’t know
I don’t know who I am anymore
Or even what I think
I see pop ups that push and pull and shove me
Into bad decisions that swallow like a sea.
I don’t know
I don’t know why politicians argue endlessly
In big rooms
In expensive suites
While children who just arrived, return to the skies
Why cant they open their eyes
I don’t know so many things
And while I live with my eyes half open
Wondering if I will ever really want to SEE the world
Or if I will live in my ignorant bliss forever.
Can I handle these things that I do not know?
Will you help me to catch these ideas and actions
In a jar like lightning bugs on a hot summer night?
Help me to cram them into my head a shuffle them around
Refusing to process this terrifying information.
My cold fingers fly over the keys on this computer
And I don’t know why!
Is this relevant?
ANY of this?
Why did Michael have to live through his hells?
Why didn't they hear the bruised little girl yell?
Why do we fight against our natures for money and wealth?
Why do we think our lives are just shells?
I don’t know, but I BELIEVE that life is what you make it
I am learning about who I am
Without my parents for preachers
I am sitting up, eyes glued to the white board
The lesson is life and the topic is teachers
They don’t know who you are or even you interests
Take hold of your mind and embrace your eccentrics.
Or ignore the word, maybe its not your time
Just sit and complain about not knowing your line
While your wondering
I will be wandering
