I don't need anything

I don't need anything,

except sunlight in my hair.

I don't need anything,

except a breeze on my face.

I don't need a shoulder to cry on,

except when the sadness becomes too much.

And I don't need help,

except when I can't do it alone.

I don't need friends,

or time,

or space,

or light,

except when I do.

But I do need freedom,

and kindess,

and support.

But every one needs those things.

And like every one else,

all I really need,

is to be me.
