I don't need you

I learned to walk, you didn't care.

I said my first words, yet you still didn't care.

Mom walked me into my first day of kindergarten, without you.

I needed you.

I did my science fair project, no help from you.

I made the National Junior Honor Society, you weren't there to clap for me.

I had my first heartbreak, I couldn't cry on your shoulder.

I needed you.

Now,

I walked grand march at prom, and didn't flinch when I didn't see your face in the crowd.

I'm so close to graduating High School, and I am happy you're not in my life.

I have a bright future with goals and dreams because you left

Sorry Dad, I don't need you.
